How long does it take to get my string tracks?

There are several factors that will determine how soon you receive your tracks. Such as, how many songs you send, the complexity of your song, and how you choose to receive the final files. Most clients receive their string tracks in around 3-5 weeks. We will give you an estimated delivery time and as always are willing to work with you on your deadlines.

How do I receive my final files?

We’ll send you a link to download your final string tracks from our server. If you do not have a speedy internet connection, then at your discretion, a CD will be sent via USPS or UPS. We’ll even overnight the files to you on CD.

Can I sit in on the recording process for my songs?

Of course! We would love to meet you and let you experience your songs bringing on these additional sonic and lush string layers. There are many great hotels in the area, as well as the Nashville music scene to soak in. If traveling by air, you would fly into the Nashville International Airport (BNA).

Can I give you my ideas?

Absolutely. We’d love to have your thoughts. Though, we are just as happy and more than able to create a custom string arrangement without any direction.

Should I include a scratch vocal on the track?

Yes. It is always recommended to have at least a scratch vocal (if your song has vocals) so we’ll have a better idea how to arrange the string section around it.

What is a scratch vocal?

A scratch vocal is when you record a vocal track simply for reference. It is not intended to be the “final” vocal track.

What format will the final files be in?

WAV works best for most clients. Both PC and MAC will import WAV files. If you need another format such as AIF or MP3 just let us know.

Can you play from the charts I create?

Sure. But a word of warning: If you haven’t written true professional quality string charts and are not familiar with the different instruments, clefs and their ranges, etc. then it’s best to just let us handle it.

Can I include a sampled keyboard as a guide?

This is probably the easiest way for you to give us your ideas of how and where the strings should appear on your track. In this case, you should upload a reference track with the “strings” and one without.

Does it matter how long my song is?

The standard expectation is five minutes or less. However, if we feel your song exceeds “average length” then we will contact you to discuss.

Is your work guaranteed?

Absolutely! Our work is guaranteed. We treat people the way we would want to be treated. If, on the rare occasion, there is problem or concern with your tracks then all we ask is that you give us an opportunity to make it right. If there is no resolution due to file issues (not quality of recording) then we will refund any payments made. However, if there are no issues with the final files, there are NO refunds under any circumstances. It is not financially feasible to bring Union based string players back to the studio to re-record. This is why we will make sure the parts written and recorded for you are created and approached in minute detail before recording the first note. This is our complete and dedicated goal and purpose for you!

When is payment due?

Payment is due when you place your order. At least 50% is due up front with the balance due before final WAV files are made available.

Can you send me an invoice for payment?

Sorry, we do not bill clients via paper invoice. PayPal is our method of accepting payment. It is secure for both you and us.

Do I have to credit MyStringSection on my project?

No. But, we would sincerely appreciate it if you did!

Are there any copyright restrictions?

You may use our MyStringSection tracks in any way with the exception of using our strings to create a sample CD.

• You can NOT distribute the string tracks in ANY form unless they are a part of your own songs/productions.

• You can NOT sell or give any part of the string tracks, in any format, to anyone unless the strings are mixed with your own songs/productions.

• You can NOT edit or mix the string tracks into any kind of loops or samples that will be used for resale or distribution of any kind.

Who will hear or have access to my tracks?

Other than our creative team, the only people who will hear your recordings are the musicians who play the strings on your tracks and the studio engineer. Your music will be kept private and it will not be shared or distributed in any way.
